This morning I got the email: BizMind AI Agency has been accepted into the Meta Global AI Developer Hackathon. It's a remote, global build sprint that runs from October 26 to November 4, and for those ten days we'll be building in public.
What we're building: PayMind Voice
PayMind Voice is a bilingual AI voice agent for Buy Here Pay Here dealerships. Its job is the part of the business nobody enjoys and every BHPH lot depends on: payment collections. Friendly reminders, real two-way conversations, and arrangements — in the customer's language, English or Spanish.
It builds on the voice-calling work we've already been doing inside PayMind, our payments product for dealers. The hackathon is our chance to push it from reminders to real conversations.
Why collections, and why voice
In Buy Here Pay Here, the dealer is also the lender. Every late payment is a phone call someone has to make, and in Houston a lot of those customers would rather have that conversation in Spanish. Text messages get ignored; a short, respectful call that knows the account and speaks your language usually doesn't.
A collections agent also has to be careful. So the build includes guardrails from day one:
- It remembers each customer's history, so nobody has to explain their situation twice.
- It informs, reminds and records arrangements — it does not threaten, promise terms or speak for the lender.
- Anything sensitive or out of policy is handed to a person at the dealership.
- It calls within reasonable hours and respects requests to stop.
Building in public
The kickoff is Monday, October 26, and the final submission is due November 4. I'll share what we build along the way — what works, what breaks, and what we learn about putting AI on the phone for a real business.
If you run a dealership, or you just want to watch an AI agent get built from the inside, follow along. More soon.
